Walking in Love: The Covenant That Cancels Every Curse
Under the New Covenant, curses have no legal right to operate in the life of a believer who walks in love. The only pathway through which a curse can gain access is by violating the commandment of love—the highest law in the kingdom of God. When this commandment is fulfilled and actively lived out, curses are rendered powerless.
As it is written:
“Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest” (Proverbs 26:2, NIV).
Many believers excel in prayer and spiritual warfare, yet fall short in the most essential aspect of their faith: the walk of love. Love is not a secondary matter—it is the very foundation of the New Covenant.
The New Covenant: A Covenant of Love
Jeremiah 31:31–33 declares:
“I will make a new covenant… I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”
This promise was fulfilled in Romans 5:5:
“The love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.”
The Old Covenant was marked by external obedience, but the New Covenant is marked by internal transformation through divine love. Israel, whom God likened to an unfaithful spouse, broke covenant through idolatry and disobedience. In contrast, we—the bride of Christ—are called to walk in fidelity through the Spirit-led life of love. God now remembers our sins no more (Jeremiah 31:34, Hebrews 10:17). If sin has been removed, the legal ground for curses is also removed.
“While we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).
Our righteousness is not earned, but imputed through faith in Jesus Christ. The more we grow in love, the more we walk in the fullness of what Christ has accomplished.
Love Grants Us Authority Over Darkness
Understanding your covenant rights in Christ is essential. Without knowledge, the redemptive benefits of the cross can remain unclaimed. Hosea 4:6 warns, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” You must know what has been purchased for you through the blood of Jesus to enforce it against every accusation, curse, or demonic assignment.
Declarations of Victory Through the Blood of Jesus
By the blood of Jesus Christ:
- I do not deserve any curse.
- My children do not deserve any curse.
- No curse has a legal right to operate in my household.
- Any curse working in my life, I command you to leave now, in the name of Jesus Christ.
By the blood of Jesus Christ:
- Every generational curse from my father’s and mother’s lineage is broken and destroyed.
- I terminate every hidden or spoken curse in the name of Jesus Christ.
- I engage the blood and body of Christ through holy communion and declare total restoration: “I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten” (Joel 2:25).
“Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all” (1 Samuel 30:8).
Love: Your License for Dominion
Walking in love toward all people gives you the spiritual license to stand boldly against the kingdom of darkness. It aligns your will with God’s heart and grants you access to divine authority.
When you allow God’s love to flow through you—toward friends and enemies alike—you walk in harmony with His nature. This is how you honor the One who gave Himself for you while you were still in sin.
