THE COMMUNION TABLE: THE PLACE OF CRUCIFIXION, CLEANSING, AND FAVOR

THE COMMUNION TABLE: THE PLACE OF CRUCIFIXION, CLEANSING, AND FAVOR
Breath of God Upon the Assembly

Ezekiel 37:1–10
“Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.”
Heavenly Father, let Your breath come upon every pew, every chair, every heart, and every corner of GLTM. Revive what appears dry. Reignite what has grown cold. Let there be resurrection life in every gathering.

THE OLD LEAVEN MUST BE PURGED

1 Corinthians 5:7
“Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us.”

The old leaven represents the old man—the carnal nature that refuses full submission to God. Though crucified with Christ positionally, it must be experientially put to death daily. Communion is a divine tool to enforce this death.

The struggles many believers face are not primarily demonic—they are rooted in the uncrucified flesh.

“The flesh profits nothing, it is the Spirit that gives life.”John 6:63

Each time we approach the Communion table, we come to a refinery. It is the altar where the fire of the Holy Spirit confronts the residue of sin, carnality, pride, and unforgiveness. The blood refines; the body purges.

CRUCIFYING THE FLESH IS KEY TO SPIRITUAL VICTORY

Galatians 5:24
“And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its affections and lusts.”

A man who crucifies his flesh will walk in the Spirit. A man who does not will remain carnal—subject to emotions, weaknesses, and spiritual inconsistency.

Romans 6:5–7 reminds us:

If we have been united with Him in His death, we shall also be raised with Him. Our old self was crucified, that the body of sin might be destroyed… For he who has died is freed from sin.

The Communion table is an altar where we enforce the death of the old man. It is not merely symbolic—it is spiritual reality in action.

THE LAMB THAT WAS SLAIN AND YET STANDS

Revelation 5:6

“I saw a Lamb standing, as though it had been slain…”

Christ remains eternally the slain Lamb until every soul appointed for salvation is gathered in. His perpetual stance as slain speaks of ongoing grace, ongoing sacrifice, and the continual invitation to die to the flesh and live in the Spirit.

This baptism into His death must be administered frequently. Communion is how we submit afresh to that death—so the enemy has no ground in us.

UNFORGIVENESS: A BLOCKER OF BLESSING

It is spiritual foolishness to harbor unforgiveness and simultaneously pray for breakthrough.

“Leave your gift at the altar, and first be reconciled…”Matthew 5:23–24

The flesh must die before prayer becomes effective. Bitterness, envy, and offense are symptoms of the old man. These must be crucified to experience victory.

THE COMMUNION: GATEWAY TO FAVOR AND FULLNESS

John 1:16

“And of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace.”

Favor is not a mere feeling—it is divine endorsement. It is when God’s face shines upon you.

“By Your favor, You have made my mountain stand strong…”Psalm 30:7

Exodus 12:35–36 reveals how, in one night—through the Passover—430 years of poverty were reversed. The Israelites walked out with Egypt’s wealth. This is the power of covenant favor.

Communion is your access point into that realm:

  • Favor that cancels years of labor
  • Blessings that forbid empty hands
  • Divine exchanges: shame for glory, emptiness for abundance

COMMUNION: THE EXCHANGE OF FACES

Jesus said, “Do this in remembrance of Me” (Luke 22:19).
Paul said, “You do show the Lord’s death…” (1 Corinthians 11:26).

Every time you partake, there is a divine exchange:

  • He takes your face of shame
  • He gives you His face of glory
  • He removes your veil and reveals your true identity in Him

PRAYER DECLARATIONS
  • 🙏🏽 Father, as I partake of the Communion, breathe afresh upon GLTM. Let resurrection life invade every dry place.
  • 🙏🏽 By the power in the blood, I enforce the crucifixion of my flesh. Every remnant of the old man is destroyed in Jesus’ Name.
  • 🙏🏽 Lord, purge out every unforgiveness, pride, lust, and anger. Let the old leaven be burned away.
  • 🙏🏽 Let every veil of shame and limitation be torn off my face in Jesus’ Name.
  • 🙏🏽 Father, by Your favor, let my mountain stand strong. May I never walk in emptiness again.
  • 🙏🏽 As I partake of the table, I declare: I come out of Egypt. I enter into unlimited favor, grace upon grace, and blessing upon blessing in Jesus’ Name.

FINAL CONFESSION

Galatians 2:20

“I am crucified with Christ; nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me.”

Today, I declare victory over stagnation, lack, sickness, confusion, and every work of darkness. I enforce my identity in Christ at the Communion table. I am dead to sin, alive to God, and empowered to live by the Spirit. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
