Quickened by the Spirit!

Quickened by the Spirit: A Call to Deeper Encounter

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.”
John 6:63

The journey into deeper realms of God requires more than physical effort—it demands a quickening by the Holy Spirit. The flesh, no matter how well-intentioned, lacks the power to sustain a life of intimacy with God. It is only by the Spirit that we are made alive.

Many begin well but falter, not due to lack of desire, but due to lack of spiritual revival. As Psalm 80:18 declares:

“Then we will not turn away from You; revive us, and we will call on Your name.”

To quicken means “to revive,” “to make alive,” or “to infuse with divine energy.” It is this supernatural quickening that keeps the believer aflame, consistent, and focused in the pursuit of God.

“The Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”
Romans 8:11

Even Job, after his long ordeal, confessed:

“I had heard of You by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye sees You.”
Job 42:5

True encounters with God transform us forever. They may take time, diligence, and humility, but when they come, they mark us for a lifetime.

Just as the eagle soars higher by yielding to the direction of the wind, so must we yield to the wind of the Spirit. The eagle does not struggle to ascend—it aligns and rises. Likewise, we must align ourselves with the Spirit to be lifted into realms of insight, power, and divine intimacy.

🙏 Prayers for Communion and Revival

1. Father, by the power of the communion table tonight, quicken my spirit to call upon Your name with fresh fire, in Jesus’ name.

2. Lord, breathe life into every dry and weary part of me. Revive my hunger for You. (Psalm 80:18)

3. By the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead, let there be resurrection in every dormant area of my life. (Romans 8:11)

4. Lord, I don’t want to remain at the level of hearing—open my eyes to see You clearly. (Ephesians 1:18)

5. Quicken me to soar like the eagle—above distraction, above fear, above mediocrity—in the power of Your Spirit.

🕊️ Final Reflection:

Hearing prepares you for possibility. Knowing God gives you certainty.
Don’t settle for spiritual theory—press in for divine encounter.

“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
James 4:8
