Pursuing God’s Presence and Strength in the Spirit of the Eagle
In Exodus 33:13–14, Moses prayed earnestly, “Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now Your way, that I may know You…,” and the Lord responded, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”
This sacred exchange reveals the heart of true communion with God: an unrelenting desire to know Him intimately, not just His acts, but His ways. Psalm 103:7 affirms, “He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.”
There is a distinction between witnessing God’s power and understanding His person. Moses sought more than miracles—he sought relationship. Likewise, we are in need of God’s presence, not only for direction, but for rest, renewal, and transformation. In His presence, there is peace and divine assurance.
🙏🏽 Prayer:
Heavenly Father, manifest Your presence in our lives, our homes, and every gathering in which Your name is lifted. By Your grace, draw us deeper into Your knowledge. Open our eyes and our hearts to behold You as You truly are.
Just as the eagle soars by yielding to the currents of the wind, so too must we learn to rely not on our own strength, but on the breath of the Spirit. In Isaiah 40:28–31, we are reminded:
“Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall, but those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles…”
The eagle teaches us the principle of renewal. When its feathers grow old and heavy, it retreats to the high places—shedding the old, waiting in stillness, and emerging with new strength. So it is with us. Waiting on the Lord involves more than fasting; it is a posture of trust, a refusal to be anxious, and a steadfast belief that God is faithful to perform what He has spoken.
🙏🏽 Prayer at the Communion Table:
- Father, by the mystery of the communion table tonight, let the eagle within me arise in Jesus’ name.
- Lord, grant me grace to wait on You as the eagle does in the high place—patiently, expectantly, and in surrender.
- Open my eyes to see from heavenly perspectives. Teach me to soar above distractions and discouragement. Let me operate by the wind of Your Spirit.
May we continually abide in God’s presence and learn to trust in His strength, that we might rise and soar as eagles, renewed and victorious.
